Fourth of July Park

Truly, one of our favorite places in the whole wide world... Fourth of July Park!  We live in a small town of 22,000 people, located between Winston-Salem and Greensboro, NC.  While there is really only one "main road" in Kernersville, this town believes in it's parks and recreation!  There are many parks in Kville, but Fourth of July is the one we keep going back to.  It has two fun playgrounds, a skateboard park, tennis courts, paved walking trails, a dog park, a basketball court, two shelters, a horse shoe area, lots of open space, lots of picnic tables, an outdoor classroom, a winding creek that is fun and accessible for the kids... I could really go on and on.  And every park in Kernersville has real restrooms with toilets, handsinks, and running water.  (As a mom, that part may be the most important!)

Fourth of July Park is also home to the Piney Grove Schoolhouse, a one-room school that  schooled the children in the area from 1870-1898.
